Hi and thanks for checking out the Proimpact Project!

When I became the Executive Director of CoachArt in 2016, the first thing I did was look for a community of nonprofit leaders focused on scaling impact—and I couldn’t find one.

I wanted a space to shared strategies, successes, and lessons learned with other EDs innovating and growing their organizations.

I never did find the type of community I was looking for, but I’m very proud of the progress our team made at CoachArt….

CoachArt’s story

CoachArt had a powerful mission but a non-scalable model.

We matched kids impacted by chronic illness with volunteer arts & athletics coaches — but it took the staff an average of 7+ hours of staff time to create a match.

So we built CoachArt Connect, an app that automated matching and onboarding, cutting staff time per match to seven minutes.

That shift enabled an almost 400% increase in lessons, with an almost 70% decrease in average cost per lesson.

The CoachArt Connect app reduced the average staff time to match a student from over 7 hours to under 7 minutes.

A wave of nonprofit innovation is growing

While that type of impact growth used to be pretty rare in the traditional nonprofit sector, it’s inspiring to see more organizations developing scalable models and achieving high growth impact.

I hope to devote the next phase of my career to supporting that wave of innovation by creating the type of community and content hub for current that I could never find.

Launching the Proimpact Project

The name Proimpact Project is based on the idea that “nonprofit” has never been a good label for a sector filled with people who devote their careers to making a positive impact on the world.

We’re starting small, rolling out our invite-only leader community in phases, and learning together.
